  1. I had the privilege of knowing Robert through my brother who was in the same class as his son at Ernest Bevin school. I was a massive history buff and my brother told me his friends father was in Vietnam. I was surprised in 1984 to find an American Vietnam vet living in Balham Slndon . I was privileged to see the collection as an 18 yr old kid and the pics i saw in various documentaries and books. Robert got me into photography.. All my saturday job money was beong spent on gerting copies of pictures he lent me. A truly lovely man and family. Its tragic to hear of hos loss. Here i am at 55 and i still look at his pictures and smile when i see ones he took in various books.
Rest in peace Robert.. Thank you for the privilege of knowing you and sharing the pics kn your collection.

    1. Wow, just happened upon this comment, thank you for your kind words and I remember you coming round and spending time with him…I think you bought him a book that had one of his photos on the cover?!
