Combat Camera Joins the Legacy Paver Program at Joint Base San Antonio

Saturday, June 14th, marks a proud moment of remembrance and recognition as Combat Camera’s Legacy Pavers are officially installed on the Basic Military Training parade field at Joint Base San Antonio, Lackland—the birthplace of Airmen.

As part of the Airman Heritage Foundation Legacy Paver Program, these engraved pavers will honor the service, sacrifice, and spirit of Combat Camera Airmen and AAVS alumni, permanently etching their legacy into the pathway walked by generations of new recruits.

Location Details:

  • The installation site is on the parade field facing the stands.
  • Follow the left-side pathway, looping around to Bomber Row, near the B-24.
  • Combat Camera’s pavers will be centered with two rows above and two rows below—a design that both highlights our legacy and leaves space for future growth.
  • Our section is located fairly close to the Medal of Honor Memorial, adding meaningful proximity to one of the parade field’s most honored sites.

We hope to see as many AAVS and Combat Camera alumni as possible for this special event. It’s a perfect opportunity to reconnect, reflect, and honor our shared history. Whether you’re active, retired, or simply a friend of the Combat Camera community—your presence matters.

We’re organizing a group email (and eventually a text list) to keep everyone updated. The installation process is ongoing, and we want to make sure you’re informed every step of the way.

Feel free to drop by, share stories, and stand with those who have told the Air Force story through lens and legacy.
