Joe Ramirez, Roseville, California, 1934-2021

oe served after high school, 2 years in the USMC, and then 18 years in the USAF, primarily as a Photographer and retired as a Technical Sergeant. He was an official photographer of the SR-71 at Beale Air Force Base, CA. Joe was a Bronze Star recipient.

Joe had various occupations after the military, in Newspaper Photography, Delivery Services and, a retirement career with the National Park Services, at both Yellowstone Park and Everglades National Park.

Joe enjoyed ham radios, photography, and growing vegetables in his beloved backyard. Joe passed peacefully at home.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents: Herman and Ligia Ramirez, and sisters, Eleanor and Lorrie. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Amy Locuoco Ramirez of Roseville, CA; daughter, Gina Ramirez, of Martinez, CA; Joseph Ramirez, of Las Vegas, NV; Lisa Ramirez, of Roseville, CA; and James Ramirez, and his wife, Brenda Ramirez, of Roseville, CA. Joe has three grandsons: Joseph Thane, of Roseville, CA; Mathew Ramirez, of Sacramento, CA; Anthony (AJ) Ramirez and his wife, Shayna Williams, and future great granddaughter, Teddie James, due 3/22, of Santa Rosa, CA: step-granddaughter, Tia Campbell, and her children, Gracie, 13, Ella, 10, Abbi, 8 and Kaysen, 10 months, of Rio Linda, CA; and great-grandson, Andrew Thane, 20, of Roseville, CA.
