Ron McFarland

Ronald Floyd McFarland, 70, died at 12:06 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born March 5, 1950 in St. Louis, MO the son of the late Frank C. and Mildred (Bass) McFarland.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam and was a member of Godfrey Church of the Nazarene. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and went on to work as a television equipment technician for channel 5 KSDK. On October 28, 1995 in Alton he married Diana L. Rhoads and she survives.

Also surviving are six daughters, Kimberly Veigel (Marc) of Virginia, Cynthia McAdams (Donald) of Jerseyville, Tabitha Rhoads of O’Fallon, IL, Amanda Hooper, Melissa McFarland and Anna McFarland all of Godfrey, two sons, Jeffrey Hooper of Alton and Isaiah McFarland of Godfrey, six grandchildren, one great grandchild, two brothers, Gary McFarland (Linda) of St. Louis and Kevin McFarland and his companion Rich of Quincy, and two sisters, Sharon McFarland of St. Louis and Kathy McIntyre (Danny) of Chesterfield, MO.

Private services with burial were held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.

Memorials may be made to Ronald’s youngest children, Melissa and Anna McFarland. Gent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
