Timothy Haseltine Obituary

Timothy Haseltine

Timothy Allen Haseltine was born on March 10, 1958, in San Diego, CA, to Roger and Paula Haseltine. His father, Roger, was in the US Air Force, so they moved around most of Tim’s growing up years. After California, his family moved to the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, CO, where Tim’s sister Roxanne was born three years after Tim. They then moved to Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany, where his brother Michael was born nine years after Tim. They moved to Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota; then Clark Air Base, Philippines, where Tim began his high school years. The family moved back to the states at Pease Air Force Base in New Hampshire where Tim graduated from Exeter High School in 1976.

Tim took a year off to travel around the country in his car, visiting family and friends from all over. In 1977 as a young Christian man, he felt led to enlist in the US Air Force and went to basic training in San Antonio, TX. He served four years as an electronics technician, serving in both Germany and Arizona before getting out in 1981 and going to college in 1981, where he met Pam. They both graduated in May 1984 and were married August 11, 1984, in Whittier, CA. After marrying, they moved to San Bernardino, CA, where Tim served in the AF Reserves at Norton AFB, CA, and at MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship), supporting missionaries. Tim had the opportunity to go to Officer Training School in Texas, continued on to missile school at Vandenberg AFB, Lompoc, CA. He served as a missile launch officer at F.E. Warren AFB, Cheyenne, WY, 1987-1991. Tim then served as a video producer at Vandenberg AFB, CA, 1991-1995; an executive officer at Scott AFB, IL, 1995-1997; Head of the White House Communications Agency in Washington, D.C., 1997-2000; and Maxwell AFB, Montgomery, AL, as Chief of Protocol 2000-2001, and Executive Officer of the Chief of Chaplains, 2002 until he retired from the Air Force in 2004 after 21 1/2 years. They then moved to Prattville, and Tim served at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing for over eleven years. More recently, Tim has been the Executive Director of the Prattville Housing Authority for almost three years as well as a professional photographer for the last 36 or so years.

Accepting Christ at a young age, Tim has been intentional in his Christian walk his whole life. His ministry stretched from his military life as well as his church life where he has served as a worship leader, Sunday school teacher, choir member, narrator, sound and lighting tech, short-term missionary, to most recently baptism coordinator. He loved serving his pastor behind the scenes. He led his family in serving the Lord, and all four children, their spouses and their children are active in their church communities across the nation. Tim’s legacy has been to serve Christ, and anyone who knew him couldn’t help but know his love for them and for Christ. His coworkers, his friends, his wife, his children, and his grandchildren were on his heart at the end. In the hospital through tears, Tim said, “If I must go through this so that others can come to Christ, it will have been worth it.” After a three-week long battle, Tim lost his fight to COVID-19 on December 21, 2020.

“I know that through your prayers and the provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, my distress will turn out for my deliverance. I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have complete boldness so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.…” Philippians 1:19-21

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

Tim is survived by his wife of 36 years Pamela Marie Haseltine, his four children: Josh, Ben, Phil, and Paula; and their respective spouses: Danielle, Laura, Heather, and Logan; his 9 grandchildren: Kyli, Adalyn, Dade, Elloree, Lucy, Alana, Meridian, Thea, and Brennan.
