Are there any plans for Combat Camera to create image galleries for users to contribute to?
My guess is that there there are thousands of good (even great) images out there in in private hands. Once our generation is gone the identity and provenance of these photos will disappear and will probably be trashed by our kin.
Between all of us all, we are probably holding more Vietnam era photos than the USAF and government archives combined! It would be a real shame for these images to be lost. Between us all we hold a significant amount of photographic USAF AV history. Let’s not lose it!
What can be done? Who would like to contribute? How should it be set up?
I personally have several hundred high quality prints and color slides of my time stationed in Thailand. How about all of you? Are you ready to dig into the dusty closet and dig out your prize photos?
