I regret to inform you that my father, Ret. Col. James D. Elmer passed away on the evening of July 14, 2020. I would say he died of post-operative complications, but I do not know what the coroner has put on his official death certificate. Please thank Ken Hackman for the wonderful article on your site.
We do not know when his full military honors service will be allowed. When that service is allowed, we hope anyone who loved Dad will be able to attend.
