  1. Doug, My dad 2nd LT Albert Joseph Ravid who also flew in Operation Tidal Wave. During the mission, he was seriously wounded and was awarded the Silver Star and the Purple Heart. He has since passed on, and you are the first living soldier who was in that battle I’ve encountered. In search of more information on the exact circumstances of his receipt of the Silver Star, I learned that the warehouse where the military keeps all such information had sustained a fire and no detailed information was available. Last night I happened to meet the grandson of a solder named DeMont, also passed on, who participated in this costly mission. I don’t know how to get in contact with you, but if you would provide your contact information, I’d like to discuss the mission and your memories.

    1. I am researching Tidal Wave and especially the plane the Jersey Jackass, piloted by McGraw. What plane was your father on?

  2. Doug,
I worked at AAVS in the early 80’s. I am certian you don’t remember me since I was an Lt back then and spent most of my time trying to hide. At the moment I’m the March Field Air Museum curator. I’d like to get a hold of you if possible, a PBS documentary producer is putting together a production and would like to speak to you. Sorry for dropping your name but they asked for someone with the most interesting military/life experience I knew and… that’s you
